DOCUMENTS REQUIRED

• Residence or Work Permit
• Form 21 (Bill of Entry) which needs signed only
• Passengers Baggage Declaration (Form 47) or Settler’s Declaration (Form P 54) depending on size of shipment
• Inventory (giving serial numbers for TVs and VCRs)CUSTOMS REGULATIONS
  CUSTOMER MUST BE IN COUNTRY AT TIME OF CUSTOMS CLEARANCE
  USED HOUSEHOLD GOODS AND PERSONAL EFFECTS DUTY-FREE IF:

  * Arriving within six months of Customer
  * Were owned by Customer for a minimum of six months and are for Customer’s own use
  * Goods are not sold or disposed of while in Malawi
  * Are in reasonable quantities
  * Shipments may be inspected

  DUTIABLE/RESTRICTED ITEMS

• Items owned less than six months
• Books/magazines subject to censorshipPROHIBITED ITEMS
• Firearms are subject to Police Permit
• Ammunition
• Radio equipment
• Pornographic material
• Plants/seedsMOTOR VEHICLES
• Value may not exceed K500
• One auto per family
• Auto must have been owned and used by Customer for a year or more prior to importation or arrival of the Customer and can not be lent or sold within one year of Customs clearancePETS
• Import Permit obtained from the Veterinary Department is required
• Copies of Vaccination Certificates
